Grandma Jody and Grandpa Eddie come to Michigan

We were very blessed that Great Grandma Jody and Great Grandpa Eddie came to visit us in the frigid state of Michigan. We had a wonderful time doing nothing! We literally stayed around the house most of the time and played with baby Brooks. This was great...except for the obvious...Brooks was spoiled again beyond words. After coming home from Oklahoma/Kansas, it took me almost two weeks to "unspoil" him. And, then Grandma and Grandpa show up! He was held in someones arms every hour that he wasn't sleeping. So, it goes without saying...they just left last Tuesday and we are still in the "unspoiling" process. But, again, it was all worth it and we made some wonderful memories...

Grandpa teaching Brooks how to drink coffee (no, there wasn't any coffee in the mug)

Shocker hanging out on Grandpa's belly:)

Two good lookin' men!

Adam came home from work one day with an armful of two by fours ready to build a sauna in the basement. So, he recruited Grandpa's help and they went to work. Let's just say that hammers and nails and loud sawing noised aren't very condusive to peaceful baby naptime!!

Brooks is learning to stand on his own while hanging on the the couch

As you can see from the pics below, Adam likes to mess with Brooks' hair until he looks like he stuck his finger in a light socket. (Just so you know, we don't go out into the public like this. Mommy always wets down the disaster after Daddy leaves)

Bumbo play time (he has learned to take off his tray and throw it on the floor!)

Our little broccoli monster. Yes, mealtime is as messy as ever!

The snow finally melted and we can finally start taking walks again (with much bundling of the baby, of course).

YES, HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THIS LOUD!

He is sitting up by himself! We have to be careful, though, because after about 30-45 seconds, he will topple over. We are always there to catch him and applaud his effort. He loves it when you say, "GOOD BOY BROOKS" and clap your hands. He squeals and breaks out into an adorable smile.

The pictures below show you how life in the Blankenship house has been lately...during the NCAA baskeball tournament. Go Tigers!

The boys watching the game

Smelling the roses:)

His favorite thing to do at the moment,...play with his feet

This blog wouldn't be complete without another few pics of the baby modeling hats. He likes to wear hats and mommy likes to put them on him! Here we come baseball season...

As you can tell, things are changing so quickly here in Michigan! There are times when I look at Brooks and how fast he is growing and wish that time would slow down (but speed up through the sleepless nights of course). Now, we are looking forward to Grammy and Great Aunt Cindy coming to Michigan next week. We can't wait to see them! We would love to hear from all of you whenever possible. We might live here in Michigan...but our hearts will always be back home with our family and friends. Missing you all!
